The island of Pasman in Dalmatia is the ideal destination for holiday guests who are looking for a quiet place to rest and relax in Croatia away from tourism. Only 3,400 inhabitants live on 57 km² and the main towns are Tkon and Pasman. Most of the properties are natural houses and, like its name, is located on secluded coves.
Through a bridge to the north of the island, the island of Pasman is connected to the neighboring island of Ugljan. Pasman is even less discovered by tourists unlike Ugljan, not so lavishly overgrown and has significantly fewer residents.
The main town and tourist center of the island of Pasman is the 450 inhabitants of the same name fishing village of Pasman. But the most lively is in the ferry town of Tkon, which has an excellent ferry service to Biograd na Moru.
There is a regular bus service to the island of Ugljan and from Ugljan a ferry connection further to Zadar. An island road connects all the places, but there are still many natural houses in Pasman that are difficult or not at all reachable by car - but this is stated in the respective house description of the natural houses.
Some churches and monasteries can be seen on Pasman. The 14th century Franciscan monastery is located in the village of Kraj and has an attached museum that is definitely worth a visit. A Benedictine monastery that was rebuilt in the 14th century, where monks of life is still located northwest of Tkon on Mount Cakovac.
